At BSK we want to find new ways to include our parents and families in their child’s school life. Therefore, to end yet another busy term, students and teachers invited parents to school to share and celebrate all the wonderful things they had been learning and creating. The students and teachers were very excited to have visitors and they all worked very hard to prepare a showcase of facts and fun learning! During Term 2 Reception had based their learning around the theme of ‘Wild Things.’ This has been a fun-filled topic looking at stories such as ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson. Teachers have cleverly linked learning activities to a jungle theme. The children were very excited to have their family members visit and play with some of the activities that have helped them learn this term. This term Year 1 students have been learning with the theme of ‘On the Loose’. Students have been engaged in lots of fun learning activities based on the theme of animals. We have been reading our themed story ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ and making our own fact files on our favourite animals. Children have had the opportunity to take part in group presentations, sharing their knowledge with different classes and working together to create informational posters. It has been a fun and exciting term! Take a look at some of the things the students shared with their parents during their Year 1 ‘Come Learn with Me.’ We would like to thank all our parents who came to visit us during this special day. We hope you had a special day with your child, creating magical moments and above all, you learnt something new!
In Term 3, we aim to bring empathy to life in a variety of meaningful ways, both inside and outside the classroom.
We are delighted to introduce the Middle Phase Student Councillors for the academic year!
Year 5 students immersed themselves in learning about life during the Victorian era, exploring what daily life was like under the reign of Queen Victoria.
Let’s get reading and let the adventures begin!
