UPPER DEPARTMENT CURRICULUM

Combining British academic excellence with exceptional learning experiences, our Upper Department programme will shape your child’s future. After completing Year 9 – and selecting their IGCSE options – our Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) learners work towards their IGCSE exams. Our rigorous two-year programmes refine each child’s knowledge, nurture their talents, and build independence. This readies them for the challenge of AS and A Levels in Sixth Form.

SETTING YOUR CHILD UP FOR IGCSE SUCCESS

Our Upper Department students follow the National Curriculum of England, which culminates in their IGCSE exams at the end of Year 11.


At our IGCSE school in Kuwait, we offer two-year IGCSE programmes that are recognised and respected across the world. Alongside mandatory core subjects, which include English, maths, and science, our Key Stage 4 students have a choice of 25 IGCSE options. This allows them to create an education that aligns with their academic strengths and interests, ensuring they’re well positioned to fulfil their, AS, A Level, and university ambitions.


Your child’s academic programme will be complemented by a variety of enriching experiences. These include trips, extra-curricular activities, and creative, sporting, social, and leadership opportunities.

UPPER DEPARTMENT

OUR PSHE PROGRAMME

We place great importance on personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education at BSK. Our comprehensive programme covers a myriad of important topics, including citizenship, responsible social behaviour, cooperation and teamwork, and respecting difference. We also encourage our Upper Department learners to develop a greater awareness of global issues and broaden their view of the world.


PSHE is the focus for regular assemblies and events, with students preparing drama pieces, presentations, films, and more. We also offer an opportunity to explore business and entrepreneurship courses, through our INJAZ programme.
