Sports
We believe that sport is for everyone. Our clubs – which include basketball, football, netball, volleyball, swimming, and athletics – offer fun, friendship, and opportunities to get active. Talents shine bright at our inter-house tournaments and sports days, too, which encourage teamwork and sportsmanship. Our young sports stars also represent the school with pride at Kuwait Foreign Schools Activities Conference (KFSAC) and International Schools Activities Conference (ISACK) competitions, as well as the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) Games.

Extra-curricular clubs
Our extra-curricular clubs offer something for every student, spanning the arts, academic, STEAM, and much more. Our drama productions and music ensembles provide the stage on which creative talents shine, while our debate and chess clubs develop our learners’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We also offer a choice of visual arts, science, and technology groups, which encourage creativity and innovation.

Our Model United Nations (MUN) programme simulates the work of United Nations delegates and committees, providing a platform for lively debate and discussion on global themes. Being part of the MUN develops our students’ critical thinking, diplomacy, and public speaking skills, while simultaneously deepening their understanding of international affairs. The programme also encourages teamwork and collaborative research.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading youth achievement scheme. It’s also an integral part of many of our older students’ programmes. Our young people take part in adventurous activities, set personal goals and challenges, and get involved in community service projects that make a difference. As they progress through Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, your child will grow in confidence, become increasingly resilient, and learn more about themselves and others.

Student WELLBEING

CARING FOR YOUR CHILD

Your child’s health and happiness will always come first at BSK. Our commitment to excellence means providing the very best wellbeing support. It also means offering a holistic education that balances academic rigour with personal, emotional, social, and physical growth.

Alongside an expert pastoral care team, we employ a range of innovative and age-appropriate wellbeing initiatives. These include a team of Upper Department ‘Wellbeing Warriors’ who look out for their peers and a dedicated Kindness Curriculum for Lower Phase students. Allocated areas, such as the Wellbeing Woods in our Junior Phase, provide safe spaces for mindfulness and quiet time. Our house system creates a strong sense of inclusion and belonging, too.

All our staff undergo rigorous safeguarding courses, professional development through the renowned Anna Freud Centre, and counselling training. This ensures that your child will receive the support they need.

OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

DEMONSTRATING OUR VALUES

Through a breadth of in-school, local, and global service activities, our students embody our core values and make a positive difference to the people and communities around them.

From an early age, we encourage our children to take on leadership roles, including through our Junior Phase Council and Playground Pals project. In Secondary, our Social Impact Committee members research, plan, and deliver a variety of charitable activities, from cultural iftar initiatives during Ramadan to Pinktober events for cancer awareness.

Taking part in these types of activities not only develops our learners’ teamwork, communication, and organisational skills, but also instils a strong collective notion of responsibility. They also motivate our students to learn about and connect with the world around them.
