MIDDLE PHASE CURRICULUM

Our Middle Phase programme is the perfect preparation for the challenge of IGCSEs, deepening our students’ subject knowledge and supporting their emotional, social, and physical development. Our holistic approach also places significant emphasis on personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education. Supported and inspired every day, your child will discover and develop their strengths, and grow in confidence.

PREPARING OUR STUDENTS FOR THE FUTURE

Our Middle Phase students follow the National Curriculum of England. At BSK, the Middle Phase covers Year 6 (the final year of Key Stage 2) and Years 7 and 8 (the first two years of Key Stage 3).


Our programme carefully supports the transition from Primary to Secondary, nurturing both personal growth and academic development. Inspired by our world-class teachers, our students immerse themselves in specialist subject learning that increases their knowledge and understanding, and identifies talents and passions. We also believe it’s vitally important for your child to take part in a variety of extra-curricular activities.


Progression through our Middle Phase fully prepares our students for Year 9 (the final year of Key Stage 3) and our two-year IGCSE courses.

OUR PSHE PROGRAMME

At this transitional time in our students’ learning journey, we emphasise the importance of personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education.

Our comprehensive Middle Phase PSHE programme – delivered by our class tutors – covers a variety of topics, including friendship, citizenship, responsible social behaviour, cooperation and teamwork, developing good relationships, and respecting people’s differences. We also give our learners the tools and resources to look after their wellbeing.
